Terre di Giotto is a biodynamic farm started in 2006 by Michele Lorenzetti. Lorenzetti is an Oenologist, Biologist + Winegrower. He has been practicing biodynamic viticulture since 2004. His approach is practical and rational: focus on direct experience and scientific research rather than theoretical and philosophical speculations. Gattaia & Terre di Giotto farm is about 3 total hectares located in Vecchio del Mugello, Toscana, Italy. Gattaia is about 600 meters above sea level with coexisting plants that range from Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and a mass selection from old vines from the Liore, France from Mark Angeli. The remaining vineyard is about 300 meters above sea level in deep clay soils and consist of two plots of old vines planted in 1972 and include Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Tempranillo, Trebbiano, and Malvasia di Candia. Today the company produces about 10,000 bottles of wine a year .
